Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire is all about Amelia Harper, a virtuous young lady. Her miserable life starts when her parents borrow money from Dylan Blackwood, a billionaire.
Amelia has to marry Dylan because her parents can’t pay the debt. Since then, Amelia has been subject to Dylan’s mocking, ridicule, and other abusive behaviors.

Part 1: The Story Of Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire
The story of Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire starts with two sisters and their fiancés. Amelia Harper is the older sister of Jenner. However, the older sibling is the family’s scapegoat, and Jenner is the Golden Child. Such things invite opportunities for Jenner to set things up against Amelia.
Jenner knows their parents only listen to her and not to her older sister. So, in Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire, she sets up a scene where she elopes with the man of her choice. Jenner forces Amelia to help her run away and live a life with her dream man.
As expected from a virtuous and obedient daughter like Amelia, she tells her parents even though she knows her parents won’t listen to her. She willingly accepts her parents’ punishments when her parents find out Jenner runs away.
She should marry the cold-hearted Dylan Blackwood and have none of her parents attend her wedding as punishment. For your information, in Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire, Amelia’s parents are indebted to Dylan. They can’t pay him back, and they pin up the blame on Amelia, the scapegoat.
Dylan has owned Amelia’s body since the first days of their marriage. He also regularly mocks, humiliates, intimidates, and threatens his newly-wed wife. This domineering billionaire is no different than Amelia’s parents!
Dylan and Amelia are married through deception, which makes their marriage life less enjoyable. What will Amelia do next in Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire?
Part 2: Highlight Chapters Of Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire
Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire Chapter 1
I would say Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire Chapter 1 is one of the most dramatic openings I’ve ever read. This introductory chapter is full of Jenner’s crocodile tears. Jenner’s masks start to fall over the last few paragraphs of this novel. By that time, Amelia had been too late.
Something terrible will happen to Amelia in the next chapters of Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire. It happens because Jenner sets her up to “free” her to “elope” with her dream man. Somehow, at this point, I believe Jenner’s dream man never existed.
Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire Chapter 7
Tina and Tess are Master Dylan’s loyal bodyguards. They make another appearance in Chapter 7 of Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire. Even though Tina and Tess appear friendly and supportive to Amelia, it doesn’t mean they don’t defend their Master.
Even Amelia doesn’t dare to defy her cruel husband’s orders. We see how she defends the pain she feels around her body as she makes it to the bathroom. What happens next in Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire Chapter 7? Well, I leave it all to you, readers!
Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire Chapter 8
Amelia still feels hurt from her last intercourse with Dylan. Her body has screamed enough of Dylan’s physical abuse. Yet, Dylan continues to do even worse to Amelia’s body in Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire Chapter 8. He forcefully pulled Amelia’s hair and roughly pushed Amelia to the floor.
Even though Amelia feels disgusted with Dylan’s actions, she doesn’t want to make any noise. Had she been noisy, she would have triggered Dylan to do even more physically abusive things to her. No wonder the readers pity Amelia in this chapter of Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire!
Part 3: Some Reflections On Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire
Many readers think Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire is one of the online novels that romanticize abuse and violence. While I agree with them (because this novel is an R18 novel), it doesn’t mean that this book doesn’t have any take-home messages we can learn from.
Toxic parents exist. They can kill their daughters progressively by first confusing their identities. Neither Amelia nor Jenner wants to be the Golden Child or scapegoat in the family.
Being the Golden Child means Jenner can abuse her rights and become just as nasty as her parents while being the scapegoat means Amelia has to face numerous life-versus-death scenarios throughout this book.
Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire teaches us not to be like Jenner and Amelia’s toxic parents. Even though none of the chapters explicitly state the parents’ motives, I believe their power-hungriness blinds them into binding themselves to the debts of a billionaire.
When I reflect on the scenes and my reflections on them, I think relating through power means, including through money, is not always the best way. Not all people have pure intentions. Some can even show their abusive face and hidden motives after a few encounters, just like Dylan Blackwood in Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire.

Part 4: An Alternative Novel To Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire
R18 novels are full of violent physical acts and trigger warning scenes. Plus, the take-home messages are not something that a younger child or teenager won’t understand. Some examples of the common take-home messages include not involving ourselves in debts and not marrying strangers just so we can repay our debts.
Love Slave To The Mafia Boss’ Passion R18 is one of best novels I would recommend as an alternate novel to Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire. Malissa Maxford’s history of her father’s debts is identical to Amelia’s in Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire.
In addition to her father’s debt, Malissa should also help her mother pay her medical bills. These entire money things have been too much for her until she agrees to marry a Torex mafia gang member to erase her debts and help her pay her bills. She also has to live with the mafia’s son for 30 days. Otherwise, the mafia will annul her marriage contracts.
Even though Dylan in Substitute Bride: Married To A Domineering Billionaire is not a mafia, I feel the male MC of this novel has similar personality traits to Dylan. You will see lots of mature content, including violent scenes, as you read Love Slave To The Mafia Boss’ Passion R18. The more chapters you read, the more you’ll want to put this novel into your Library!
