Marriage of Inconvenience revolves around Kathleen Tyson who is determined to make some good decisions. But she should get married, as soon as possible.
Kat is the sole heiress to a pharmaceutical empire and she’s a Billionairess. But with her father suffering from Alzheimer’s and her mother suffering from extreme catatonic schizophrenia.
Her evil cousin, Caleb who is currently the CEO of her parent’s empire wants to gain access to her parent’s assets. Growing up Kat was sent to boarding school which made her want to be a rebel and she had some poor choices of hookups, and alcohol which deemed her to be unstable.
Caleb to get his evil motives wants to prove that Kat is unstable and that way he can become her legal guardian so he can get his hands on her inheritance.
And that leaves us to why Kat wants to get married asap. Kat might have her perfect pick of a husband.
Dan O’Malley, our security man, Kat’s crush for over two years. The plan is simple for Kat, find someone who is trustworthy and someone who doesn’t have Romantic feelings for her, and Dan ticks all the boxes and he’s also single.
So that should go easy. But Dan turns out to be not so indifferent and not as trustworthy as Kat deemed him to be. Now Kat has to keep her mind and heart sane.

Kathleen Tyson, our Kat is beautifully imperfect. She knows that she’s not perfect, she was the rebel in her teenage years and it cost her some tough decisions in life and she’s called unstable as a result of it.
But the best part of Kat is that she wants to own responsibility for her past mistakes and wants to do better. That means saving her family inheritance from the hands of her evil cousin who wants to gain legal guardianship over Kat.
The perfect solution for Kat is to get a husband, save her family inheritance and redeem her life.
Dan O’Malley, our handsome hero is so unapologetically himself. He’s not where perfect and he doesn’t care. I loved the way Dan took care of Kat, the way he could understand the internal conflicts Kat faced after growing up in a life where she wasn’t so close to her father, with bad teenage years, and a family who wants to prove her mentally incapacitated.
Marriage of Inconvenience characters developed along with the story and I was craving more of Kat and Dan’s sexy romance. Dan might be the best charming, book boyfriend. Because I fell in love with the man he was with our Kat.

Marriage of Inconvenience was a story I was so excited to read, I loved everything about the story which left me curious ever since I read the story blurb and Penny Reid didn’t disappoint me.
Kat is a sweetheart, so troubled, so beautiful and so witty. I loved her. I loved the drama surrounding her life. I mean, she needs a husband to save her family inheritance as her evil cousin is trying to get his hands on her parents’ assets.
Kat is determined to save her inheritance by marrying Dan who she thinks is trustworthy and they had a brief moment but with a misunderstanding, the flames didn’t work. Or so she thinks.
But Dan aka the security man is her perfect choice for this Marriage of Inconvenience. However, things don’t get easy for Kat and Dan.
First of all, I loved the sexual tension between Kat and Dan. I enjoyed the endearing characters that you can’t help but fall in love with.
Every time the couple got closer, those kisses, the way Dan knew Kat. It was steamy, it left me wanting more of the couple.
I loved how the romance developed, those hidden feelings coming to light. Overall this was an interesting story for me.
It was perfect, the plot was so convoluted that I didn’t see the plot twists coming. Marriage of Inconvenience is Part of the Knitting in the City series but being standalone, you can dive straight into it.
