Part 1. Esper’s Game Main Storyline

Esper's Game Novel

The protagonist is a brave adventurer who finds himself in a new world of fantasy and survival. In the Esper’s Game novel, Luke is a gamer who finds himself in a virtual world where he gains new skills and items. The Esper’s Game includes elements of video game culture and themes such as leveling up, skills, and mana. It also consists of some romantic and comedic aspects.

It is also written in the form of a conversation, where Luke is conversing with an imaginary voice or guide (the System), who seems to be controlling the game world.

Of course, like any good fantasy novel, some danger lurks around every corner. Now, Luke isn’t exactly your typical hero material. He’s more concerned with having fun and surviving than saving the world. But he and Artoria must still fight to survive, and even their powers may be turned against them.

Part 2. Esper’s Game | Thrilling Chapter Summary

Chapter 1

Esper's Game novels

The Esper’s Game novel starts with the protagonist finding himself in the world of the void, wondering what his purpose is. Suddenly, he is chosen to beta test a new “Gamer System” and receive various abilities, including the ability to select a race and class.

He ultimately chooses the “Esper” class and receives multiple skills, including the ability to use telekinesis. He also gets the traits “Uncaring Self” and “Sin of Wrath,” as well as the perks “Blessed by Mana” and “Min-Maxer.” He then has to choose a world to go to and begin his adventure.

Chapter 2

Esper's Game characters

Luke is introduced as the protagonist of the Esper’s Game. He woke up in a luxurious bedroom, not knowing how he got there. He is notified that he has gained two superpowers: the ability to produce more electricity than humanly possible and the power to shoot out crystals that affect the mind.

He also learns about the various menus available in their System, including the inventory, Gacha, quests, and relationships.

He is tasked with finishing the tutorial, which involves killing all the goblins in a dungeon. Luke, the hero of Esper’s Game, uses his newfound powers to stealthily destroy the goblins and steal their stats. He feels a rush of energy with each successful kill.

In this chapter, Luke finds himself in the middle of a goblin swamp, ready to take on their leader, an Ogre! Despite the Ogre’s regeneration ability, Luke defeats him while rationing his mana and focusing on taking out the other goblins. He finishes the boss off with a swift and powerful strike and gains a level.

But that’s not all; he also earns the title of “Goblin Slayer Apprentice” and completes his objective of killing all the goblins in the dungeon.

Chapter 3

Esper's Game Character

Luke felt tired after a fight but felt that fighting was a good stress relief. Luke received pings from his System indicating that he gained new skills and items. It includes a skill called Twister that inflicts damage on enemies and an item called Heart Crystal that provides relationship advice.

Luke also received two Gacha Tokens, which he used to roll the Gacha and summon a character named Artoria Pendragon (Alter). However, Luke also received a strange item called “Random Man’s Balls,” which he did not want to touch or think about. Despite feeling a sense of d’j’ vu, Luke surveyed the house he was in and found it to be a good place for his first world.

Luke is talking to the System, offering him a deal that takes up their time but doesn’t come cheap. The other users are gone, and there’s an ominous warning about what could happen to Luke if he keeps going. Luke then crushes a gem, which causes a blonde girl to appear.

She is Artoria Pendragon, and she seems to know Luke. Artoria embraces him and mentions being together with Jack, Eri, and other girls. Luke gains Affection, Reputation, and Obedience with Salter and a perk that increases his mana and gives him fire manipulation.

Luke needs clarification about what’s going on and theories that he might have died and the universe was destroyed. Salter tells him where to buy her favorite clothes, and Luke bumps into Momo from the series. He gains and loses some affection with Momo, then buys clothes with Salter’s help.

Chapter 4

Esper's Game books

Luke accompanies a character named Salter to an alley to change her clothes. When Salter emerges, Luke discovers her stats and race, Demi-God. Salter requests that Luke watch her change, and he complies, unsure what else to do. After they finish, Salter asks him to go to Burger King, but they are stopped by a villain attack.

A quest appears, asking Luke to defeat the villain and save Katsuki Bakugo before Midoriya arrives, which Salter tells him he must complete to get someone to approach him.

The sludge villain seems unbeatable, but Luke charges through the burning environment, aiming to defeat him. In this chapter of Esper’s Game, Luke appears frustrated with the rules of the world he lives in, particularly the laws that restrict the use of quirks (powers) and forbid killing criminals, even in self-defense.

Esper's Game Book

Luke saves a child, gaining a reputation, but feels that the heroes should do a better job at their work. After a verbal altercation with a hero, Luke leaves and goes to Burger King with his friend Salter. Salter reminisces about a past that Luke does not remember, as he has lost his memories.

They eat in silence, and Salter is sad about Luke’s memory loss. As they walk home, a tall man runs towards them, leading to a cliffhanger ending. In an omake (bonus section), Salter expresses her grief over losing Luke and relives happy memories with him and their friends.

Chapter 5

Ester's Game story

Luke and Salter walk along the street when they hear someone running after them. It turns out to be All Might, a large and loud man who questions them about Salter and assumes that there might be a domestic violence case happening. Luke lies and says they are in a relationship, making Salter happy.

All Might is surprised and asks for Luke’s name. Luke introduces himself as an orphan and introduces Salter, who he prefers to call by her nickname. Salter becomes so happy that she vibrates and distorts space around her feet due to her yandere tendencies.

Esper's Game Online

Luke wonders how people in this world can withstand All Might’s punches, and he also thinks about leveling up quickly because of the “ID” and All Might’s strength. In this chapter of Esper’s Game, All Might reveals that he needs a successor due to an injury from a past battle.

All Might offer Luke the successor position, but Luke initially shows reluctance. However, he eventually accepts the offer and ingests a hair strand from All Might, which contains the “One For All” quirk.

The quirk can stockpile power over time and increases the user’s strength, dexterity, and endurance. However, as a rule in Esper’s Game, it also has a cost and requires the user to pay 500 SP per 5 seconds of use. The quirk also requires the user to convince all previous users to give up full control over it.

After ingesting the hair, Luke collapses and enters a dream world, where he receives a new quest called “OFA Feud.” The quest’s objective is to convince all previous One For All users to give up complete control over the quirk.
