Darius Reid was only a 20-year-old university student when Sarah Ginn, his girlfriend, broke up with him. It happened because Darius was poor compared to David Lesley, Sarah’s new boyfriend.
In addition to the rejection he experiences from Sarah, Darius only has 40 minutes more before he goes to jail. Suddenly, a luxurious-looking man arrives with his car and refers to Darius as “Young Master”.
What about a gender-bending version of this novel? “Revenge” is your answer!

Part 1: The Main Story Of The Consortium’s Heir Novel
“Manner maketh man” doesn’t apply to the main story of The Consortium’s Heir novel. Wealth is the aspect that makes any man desirable. Such a story element doesn’t only apply to Kingston University, the primary place where this novel’s stories take.
It also applies to Darius Reid, the male MC of The Consortium’s Heir, and his relationship with Sarah Ginn, one of the campus’ top beauties. Darius Reid is 20 years old at the start of the novel. He possesses a great look, and he works out often. Darius is also the luckiest orphan to enter Kingston University, the most prestigious university in the novel. What’s more, is that Darius believes in the idea of true love.
So, when he first meets Sarah, both characters agree to tie themselves into a relationship based on mutual trust and loving feelings instead of money. Yet, poor Darius of The Consortium’s Heir novel is clueless that his beloved Sarah is only after his looks.
So, Sarah gladly accepts it when David Lesley, the wealthiest guy in the university, proposes to her. Furthermore, with his “money solves everything” attitude, David brings Sarah to an expensive 7-star hotel. Rumors said one meal costs at least $10,000 in this hotel. Meanwhile, Darius never spends more than $50 on a single meal. After all, Darius is the poorest student.
Darius is furious when he finds his girlfriend cheated on David. When he knocked David out, and Sarah called security, he found himself on the verge of jail as he couldn’t pay the fine. Suddenly, he receives a mysterious call that states he is Young Master Reid, the heir of Reid Consortium.
Later, we find out that the mysterious call comes from Bruce, Darius’ grandfather’s assistant. Now that Darius knows he is The Consortium’s Heir, he is no longer a broke university student!
Part 2: The Highlight Chapters From The Consortium’s Heir Novel
The Consortium’s Heir Chapter 15
Darius was an extremely broke university student. So, when he pays with his super-rare card at the shop, the manager feels suspicious of his actions. Such a thing happens especially when the manager has close relations with Sarah and David, two people who have grown their hatred for Darius since the first chapter of The Consortium’s Heir.
In Chapter 15, Gary can’t stop looking up and down at Darius’ appearance over and over again. As far as he knows, only top business leaders possess the card. What will Darius do next? What about Sarah and David?
The Consortium’s Heir Chapter 17
Darius’ extreme wealth as the Young Master Reid becomes more evident in Chapter 17 of The Consortium’s Heir. His table is full of luxurious meals. When you’ve read the previous chapters, especially the introductory chapters, you’ll notice Darius never eats these astronomical amounts of fine-dining meals in his life.
Wealth attracts girls. So, The Consortium’s Heir Chapter 17 shows three pretty girls walking over Darius and giggling. Claire, the lady in the middle, also comes from a wealthy family. So, she feels confident in approaching Darius, even though her other peers have tried to stop her.
The Consortium’s Heir Chapter 19
Even though some people have acknowledged Darius as the Young Master Reid of the Reid Consortium, Darius still chooses to dress modestly. One of Darius’ modest attempts is to wear a pair of worn-out shoes. His modest appearance leads another young man not to believe in his capability of paying for the expensive shoes.
All Darius does in The Consortium’s Heir Chapter 19 is to ask for the limited-edition shoes’ price. Yet, the young man laughs and mocks him. Others call him vain and trying to impress his girls. Well, has Darius broken up with Sarah already?
Part 3: Some Reflections Of The Consortium’s Heir Novel
When we read The Consortium’s Heir novel, we will immediately think money is the book’s central theme. All chapters in The Consortium’s Heir involve money to some extent. When we think about money and how it relates to Darius Reid, the male MC, we might pin the blame on Darius’ modest appearance.
Nothing’s wrong with hiding wealth. Darius is the only Young Master Reid of the Reid Consortium. Everybody must’ve searched for his money. While it’s true that the recently-found Young Master has bodyguards, assistants, and pretty ladies around him, these support systems can’t be together with him at all times. So, I understand Darius’ motives behind his modest appearance.
Being modest, dressing poorly, wearing worn-out shoes, and appearing unconvincingly, can lead people to underestimate a person’s wealth. It also happens in real life. Yet, I am sure Darius has accepted the risks. He needs to protect himself, particularly after his horrendous break-up with Sarah.
Other readers might think Sarah is another materialistic and ungrateful girl. Yet, I see Sarah’s characters somewhat differently. While I agree with how readers view her traits, Sarah is the author’s way of convincing readers that girls don’t need attractive guys. They put more importance on a person’s display of wealth.
At the same time, I can see The Consortium’s Heir should have more elements than money. As far as I know, these book types have “revenge” as the encircling theme. It should be a “from zero to hero” novel. Hence, I recommend an alternative novel with a similar storyline and much richer elements.
“Revenge” is the answer. Please note that “Revenge” is the book title. You can check out the book!
Part 4: Similar To The Consortium’s Heir
Revenge is a book title you can find. As I’ve mentioned in this article’s previous part, “Revenge” novel has a similar storyline to The Consortium’s Heir. Having a female MC also distinguishes Revenge from The Consortium’s Heir, along with much more intense revenge elements in the story.
Revenge tells us a story about Isabella Johnson, the only daughter of the Johnson family. Even so, her family doesn’t like her. On top of all, her “luck” is to briefly marry Paul Stevens, the playboy heir of the Stevens family. Even after the divorce and her return to her parents, her parents kick her out because she’s too chubby. The only thing Isabella can do is to make a good food.
So, a restaurant business becomes the only support system Isabella has. Nine months later, Isabella opened up another branch. Such an occurrence leads her to a radical transformation of her life. She becomes the restaurant’s big boss, loses her weight, appears much prettier, and is ready to get revenge on her ex-husband and family members who reject her.
Isabella’s story is a gender-bending version of Darius’ in The Consortium’s Heir. Not only the elements are richer in “Revenge” novel. This novel is also full of relatable stories. You can read the chapter!
