Things We Never Got Over Summary

Things We Never Got Over is one of a romance novel to talk about a woman running away from an unwanted wedding. Furthermore, in this novel, Naomi Witt, the female MC, doesn’t only try to escape from marriage. Instead, she also has to run away from her evil sister, Tina.

As we read through the stories in Things We Never Got Over novel, Tina is not content with letting Naomi runs away on her own. Instead, she purposefully leaves Naomi at the mercy of other people around her, without her credit cards, phones, or cars.

As a result, Naomi is stuck in a region that only knows to solve problems through beer and fists. The people she meets there are also far from being friendly.

The handsome bad boy barber, Knox Morgan, is also not fond of this Little Miss Daisies at all. Still, Naomi’s troubles in Things We Never Got Over begin to draw him closer to her heart. From there, they start having instant chemistries, and eventually, a romantic relationship.

Part 1: Meet The Characters Of Things We Never Got Over

Naomi Witt

Things We Never Got Over

Naomi Witt is the 36-year-old female MC of Things We Never Got Over. She is the quintessential good girl who always tries her best in following the rules and keeping the peace, except for two things: One, a marriage she doesn’t want, and two, all problems caused by Tina, her delinquent sister.

Naomi may seem to hate Knox (and vice versa) at the start of their mutual appearances in Things We Never Got Over. However, I would say that Naomi’s “big vocabulary” personality fits with Knox’s no-nonsense and refusing-to-play-by-the-rules attitude. Not to forget that she looks lovable when she gathers her support systems.

Knox Morgan

Things We Never Got Over Knox

Knox Morgan is the 43-year-old barbershop owner in Things We Never Got Over. His good looks, tattoo, and refusals to play by the rules attract so many girls around the city. Other people would also take time in stopping by Honky Tonks, his barbershop, and pay large sums of money for his services.

Unfortunately, dramas and romances are the last things Knox wants in his life. His willingness to “help” Naomi was only because he wants Naomi to leave him alone as soon as he “solves” her problems. However, his attitude toward Naomi changes as soon as the “initial problems” emerge into more troubles for him.

Other Characters

Things We Never Got Over Other Characters

The evil sister Tina is the first (non-)supporting character we find in the Things We Never Got Over novel. She lives in Knockemout, and she intends to throw her sister to this far-from-being-peaceful place, yet, she fails because here is where Naomi finds Knox, her love.

Other than Tina, we also know Nash, the good guy of the story and Knox’s brother, and is as handsome as the bad boy MC. Lina also becomes one of Knox’s female best friends.

Part 2: Story Of Things We Never Got Over

Things We Never Got Over Novel

The story of Things We Never Got Over starts by telling us the lives of two sisters, Naomi Witt and Tina, her evil sister. Unlike Tina who always creates problems for people around her, the 36-year-old Naomi is the all-around good girl of the family. There’s only one thing that stops Naomi from being a nice girl, and that one thing is a forced-upon marriage.

The delinquent Tina in Things We Never Got Over is apparently not satisfied to “set” her sister “free”. So, she sets Naomi up for failure, in ways that she loses her credit cards, phones, and cars, in Knockemout, a place that is not only foreign to her but is also notorious for the reputation of solving every problem with beers and fists.

Even after Naomi enjoys her freedom for a while, she has to encounter Knox Morgan, the 43-year-old bad boy barber from Honky Tonks. He is more than his good looks and tattoos; he is also someone who refuses to get tied into a relationship and prefers to deal with people and problems the ways he usually enjoys his cup of coffee: Alone, by himself.

Knox so hates drama that he avoids Naomi like a plague. He eventually has to surrender when his manager at the barber shop appoints Naomi as the waitress. From this part in the Things, We Never Got Over novel, Knox and Naomi begin to embrace new levels of their relationships Which they never imagine themselves plunging into it before.

Part 3: Meet The Author Of Things We Never Got Over

Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score

“A heartfelt romance story that even your families can’t look you in the eye!” – this quote gives a vivid picture of how Lucy Score, the author of Things We Never Got Over, describes the scenes in her novels. Things We Never Got Over is one of the novels that this Wall Street Journal and #1 Amazon Kindle Store best-selling author writes.

Another thing about Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score is that it becomes the first part of the whole Knockemout book series. As you’ve read in the previous parts of this article, this first Knockemout book is all about the romantic relationship between Knox and Naomi. You can read the romance sequels from other characters in the second and third Knockemout books.

I love the ways Lucy develops the MCs’ characteristics and feelings from the start of the chapters until the end. I would say the romantic moments between Knox and Naomi are more than slow-burn romances; instead, I also get to see Knox’s motivational and inspiring side the moment I read closer to the book’s endings.
