Part 1: Laurel’s Story In The Returned Luna
Laura was mated to the reckless, careless prince Basil. She knew there was no love between them, yet she stood by his side for three years, looking out for the pack while King Adolph was at war with the vampires.
The Returned Luna Laura hosted all the pack’s banquets, built hospitals, shelters and schools and cared for those who were injured in war. She was a selfless Luna that everyone loved.
Ever since King Adolph’s mate had perished and Basil had taken Laura as his chosen mate, the pack members have doted on their new Luna.
As Laura was carefully gathering the fruits from the garden, her maid Sarah rushed to tell her that Basil was once again hosting a lavish banquet. The truth was that the price couldn’t care less about the war with the vampires and his father’s struggle, all he cared about was having fun and meeting she-wolves.
Indeed, Laura spent most of the time attending pack’s business rather than looking out for Basil, but she knew that supervising every task was important. Right now, she needed to send fresh fruits to the wolves from the borders and the ones from the battlefield and she wanted to do that before someone tampered with the goods and poisoned them.
Not realizing that she wore a dirty old dress, Laura stormed into the packhouse to scold Basil for wasting food and money on unnecessary things while his father was putting his life in danger for everyone.
Upon seeing the beautiful Delia holding Basil’s arm, dressed in one of her dresses and wearing her jewelry, Laura was distraught, but the prince found that it was the right opportunity to tell her that he meant to reject her. He wanted Delia as his wife and new Luna of the pack.
Wasting no time, he threw Laura out from the packhouse and forbade anyone from helping her, even Sarah who tried to defend her Luna.
Upon being rejected and abandoned, Laura learned that her parents had arranged her marriage to Basil in order to gain money and status. They used her as a bargaining chip. Heartbroken and distraught, she never got to see someone sneaking behind her and pushing her over the edge, causing her death.
On the other side, Laura meets the Moon Goddess who offers her a second chance at life, promising her that she will understand the reason why she must return to life and fulfill her duty.
Waking up, Laura realizes that she is now Laurel, a young girl with whom Lucas, the future Alpha of her new pack wants to marry. Laurel immediately dislikes Lucas, considering him a coward for not being at the borders, fighting the vampires.
Later on, she finds out she is mated to Alpha King Adolph. He is a handsome, righteous, brave man, but he is also her father-in-law from her previous life.
She had never met the man when she was Laura, so, in her opinion, Adolph must be exactly like his son, a ruthless womanizer. She tries to flee from the King, but he won’t let her escape. Adolph takes his new mate back to his packhouse, where Laurel meets Basil again.

Scanning her surroundings, Laura, who now went by the name Laurel, realized that she was in a small home and there were just few things in the room.
Without a doubt, this family was poor so Laurel couldn’t stop herself from wondering if the pack she ended up in was ruled by a man who didn’t allow she-wolves to work outside their homes.
Inside, there was also an old woman who seemed to look out for her. Taking pity, Laurel grabbed the basket fruit sitting on the table and offered it to the woman. Smiling, she refused the offering, urging Laurel to eat more herself as she was too thin.
The woman than invited Laurel to go to her place another day and enjoy a home cooked meal and afterwards went to attend her duties. She had just returned, yet the girl needed to know just how long she had been gone for and whether the war with the vampires was over or if it was still happening.
Gazing at her new place, Laurel found a stack of letters on the table. They were all from Jack Miller, apparently Laurel’s father. The man was assuring his daughter that when the war was over, he would come home and teach her how to hunt.
In the meantime, their friend Amanda would look out for the girl. Laurel realized that the woman she found when she woke up in this life was the nice Amanda. Carrying on, Jack asked his daughter to be safe and to marry the man her heart desires.
With tears running down her face, Laurel couldn’t help but compare her previous selfish parents who have sold her to prince Basil and Jack Miller, a poor warrior who doted on his daughter and wished her happiness above everything else.
Laurel could have been many things in her previous life, but there was one thing she couldn’t grasp and that was not being able to provide food for herself. She knew her skills and she knew that she could easily hunt, thus she proceeded to hunt a couple of rabbits. She planned to gift one to Amanda.
Back at her house, Laurel is greeted by a young man who looked rather furious with her. She came to learn that he was Lucas, the future Alpha of the pack and he planned to marry her one day.
