When the Jacksons learn about the hospital’s mistake of switching their daughter to another girl at birth, they decide to look for their real heir. They loved their given daughter Emily though and didn’t want to give her up, but they also needed to have their flesh and blood in their lives.
When they finally found Janet, Megan and Brian, the girl’s birth parents, sent their trusted maid, Poppy, to retrieve the girl and pay off the people who raised her.
Growing up in the countryside, Janet was planting watermelon seeds when Poppy came to claim her. She quickly gathered the few clothes she owned and joined the woman in the car.
The truth was that Megan and Brian weren’t that happy with discovering the mix-up. They had raised Emily to be the perfect lady. The girl was beautiful, she had perfect scores in high-school and she had a promising future, whereas they had no idea whether Janet could live up to their standards or not.

Little did everyone know that Janet was actually a very smart young woman, with proper education and a successful business person. She kept her true values secret, participating in important auctions and handling her business from afar.
During one of the auctions, she was stunned when a naked man in a cage was brought forward to for the bid. The man looked at Janet and pleaded with her to help him. The girl took pity on the guy and started auctioning for him, when a group of men barged in and saved the caged man.
He was actually the billionaire Mason who had been kidnapped. Now his bodyguards rescued him. Mason immediately became interested in Janet. Without knowing him, she was actually going to help him.
He starts pursuing her, sometimes watching her from afar and helping her anonymously. Apart from Mason, the handsome superstar Gordon also shows interest in the beautiful woman, also seeking opportunities to jump in and save the day in order to score points with her.
Who will Janet choose? Will it be the gorgeous Mason or the rockstar Gordon?

Genius Wife Is Naughty Again is one of those novels that I would read again when given the opportunity. Janet’s character development is interesting, as she goes from being known as a country bumpkin to being recognized as a famous doctor.
Janet grew up to be an independent woman. She lacked trust in people and kept her business hidden. She has a bold alter ego that is the opposite of what she shows to her family and school mates.
She appears to be a village girl, with no manners and knowledge, a girl who only worked the field and knew how to plant watermelon seeds.
I liked the hidden identity trope, as it’s interesting to witness the heroine’s different attitudes according to the people she is dealing with and the situations she faces.
Regarding the romance theme, it’s beautifully developed. I enjoyed the weirdly, yet interestingly way that Janet and Mason met and how he became smitten with her. They begin a cat and mouse game, with Mason chasing after her and Janet running away from him.
Will he catch her and make her fall for him?
