Part 1: The Story of The Frozen Player Returns
November 4th of 2024. After five years of battling monsters who brought mayhem into the world, the Great Mage Skaya Killiland, The King of Destruction Rahmadat Kahli, the Gray Envoy Gilberto Green, the Sky Phoenix, Tenmei Mio, and Specter Seo Jun-Ho finally have the chance to fight the Frost Queen.
She is the ultimate boss and defeating her will add new safe zones in this never-ending game world. Upon getting to Antarctica, the five heroes receive a message from the system, telling them that only one person can go up the stairs and confront the Frost Queen.
The players decide that Specter has the most chance of winning this battle. He leaves his fellows behind, promising them that he will vanquish the Queen before her cold breath gets them. He assures them that they will be united once more.
He fails to fulfill his promise to see them again, even though he wins the battle. Upon his victory, the system gives Specter the title of Bringer of Spring, and new safe zones are created on area Earth.
The story takes an unexpected turn when Specter accidentally absorbs the nucleus of the Frost Queen. This will cause his stats to drop to level one. No more great strength, stamina, speed, or magic. He slowly feels the chill fill his veins and body and drifts into a long, long sleep.
To his surprise, he wakes up twenty-five years later, at the Seoul History Museum, where his frozen statue was displayed along with the ones of his fellow heroes. Believing that the game is over now that the Queen is gone, Specter decides to retire from his life as a player and even reveals his true identity and appearance in the hospital.
Later on, he learns that a new, harder game is on since the latter ended and, in twenty-five years, the players only managed to clear two levels out of ten. A discovery after absorbing the nucleus gives him hope that he could save his friends, by leveling up his skills. Will Specter be a new player in a twenty-five years old game?
Will his strategy increase his stats and bring him closer to his goals? Will his promise be fulfilled after all? Follow Specter Seo Jun-Ho’s journey. You will engage in ultimate battles, all filled with skills and adrenaline.

Part 2: Main Characters of The Frozen Player Returns
Specter Seo Jun-Ho
Specter Seo Jun-Ho, also known as Bringer of the Spring, is the hero player who succeeds, at the beginning of the novel, to defeat the Frost Queen. He spends a great deal of his life trying to boost his stats and become a valuable player. He is well-built, strong, vigorous, and fearless, combining all the attributes that a valuable player needs to have.
By accident, he absorbs the Queen’s nucleus, which freezes him completely for twenty-five years, until the absorbing process is finished. Upon defrosting, Specter learns that a new game has begun, one that is even harder than the previous one. He tries to stay retired from the game, but it pulls him right back in.
His loyalty towards his friends determines him to resume his duty as a player, especially since he learns that his new ability might be the key to saving them. Seo Jun-Ho must use all his skills to get back into the game and make his way toward victory.
Shim Deok-Gu
Shim Deok-Gu is the first familiar face that Specter Seo Jun-Ho sees after the twenty-five-year-long absorbing process is over. He is the President of the Players Association and he has been a friend to Specter since they were little.
Shim is the one who breaks the news to the Bringer of Spring that a new game has begun the moment the Frost Queen has died. This dimension elevator has been unlocked in the Pacific area and only two levels have been passed so far.
As a President of the Players Association, it’s his job to find new players that can go up the floor and stop Earth’s destruction. Shim puts all his faith in Specter and even encourages him to be a player again, creating a new identity for him, to protect him from the fiends, who would want nothing more than to catch Seo Jun-Ho.
The Red Lotus Princess
Gong Ju Ha, also known as The Red Lotus Princess, takes interest in Seo Jun-Ho after seeing a video of him defeating three players in one breath. She is the Goblin Guild’s Princess, one of the six big Guilds that have the greatest players working for them.
Her petite figure and long and wavy red hair make her a beautiful woman. But even though she is so small and enjoys popsicles, she is fearless and strong. The fiends respected and feared her deeply.
She doesn’t succeed to convince Specter to join her Guild, but she does manage to warn him to be careful, as he will be very sought after now that he won the fight against the Reapers of Gangnam. The Princess even nicknames him Mr. Snakehead, for choosing a snake head over a dragon’s tail.

Part 3: Intense Chapters of The Frozen Player Returns
The Frozen Player Returns chapter 18
The fight against the Cinder Fox was far from being over. All the remaining players were dumbfounded at the sight of the nine swaying tails before them. Even Specter, the player with experience, had never seen a monster with more than six tails.
They lost courage, but they stood their ground knowing that, once they turn their back to the monster, they will all be dead. The players decide that teamwork is a better choice, at least they will produce some damage to the Cinder Fox. The monster still proves to be stronger, dismantling their formation at once.
Suddenly a clear voice is heard, telling them that strategies, tactics, and equipment sometimes can be useless and that direct combat is a better way to approach the such situation. Seo Jun-Ho fought with all his might to protect the players, even telling them to run.
The chapter is truly intense. The fear, the combat, the use of magic, all these ingredients mix in a wonderful presentation of events that lead yet to another victory for Specter, one that will not leave him unscathed.
The Frozen Player Returns Chapter 20
As the players exited the Red Gate, they were surrounded by reporters. Everyone knew that The Cinder Fox would be hard to defeat and everyone seemed very quiet. Eventually, the reporters stopped being patient and started harassing the players with questions regarding the MVP in the Gate and the monster’s tails.
No one seemed to know who hadn’t come out yet, but suddenly they saw Cha Min-Woo coming out, carrying Seo Jun-Ho. The reporters were all disappointed with Specter, as he was considered a promising rookie and he also made a daring statement during his latest press conference.
Cha Min-Woo was surrounded by press members, a thousand questions aimed at him, everyone believing that he had killed The cinder, Fox. For a split second, Min-Woo wanted to assume the victory and enjoy the fame as Specter, his hero, but his better judgment voted against this decision.
He told the truth, that Seo Jun-Ho was the MVP of the battle and the brave hero. Seo Jun-Ho woke up in the hospital, recovering from his injuries. He knew that his mission had only begun, and there was no time for him to take a break.
The Frozen Player Returns Chapter 25
A beautiful, delicate woman in a luxurious car was watching a hologram video of Seo Jun-Ho winning a fight against the Reapers of Gangnam. The swift moves of the brave hero before her appealed to her. She truly found him attractive. He had skills and looks. That man needed to be on her team at the Goblin Guild.
The Red Lotus Princess couldn’t help but wonder how could super rookies defeat players who are over level twenty. Her subordinate immediately knew that the Princess was interested. She approached Seo Jun-Ho, who had fans lined up to take pictures, and asked to talk to him in private.
Specter immediately recognized her but he pretended to not know who she truly was and allowed her to scout him, even though he already knew that he would refuse her offer. Seo Jun-Ho couldn’t deny the fact that her offer was far better than his contract with the Association, but he couldn’t let Shim Deok-Gu down.
He chose a snake’s head over a dragon’s tail. The Princess understood what he meant and urged him to be careful in the future. There are many dangers ahead, especially since a new player like himself is so skilled and sought.
Part 4: The Frozen Player Returns Review
I could write a million reasons why I would recommend The Frozen Player Returns novel. It has an amazing storyline, great character development, magnificent world description, and well-constructed action. I often found myself living inside this fantasy world. I could feel as if I were right in the middle of the action.
The videogame reference takes this novel to another level and it shouldn’t be a surprise that it has such great popularity among anime novel readers. Besides the videogame backing, it also has mystery, not to mention magic. So, what’s life without a little magic in it? Especially when it comes in a written form that you can access as you please, from the comfort of your home.
A well-written story, so comforting and catchy, could only deserve five out of five starts. I would give it a ten if it were possible. The plot is perfect and you get adventure from the very beginning, storyline twists, and character changes. It is practically impossible to let go of the book once you start reading it.
My favorite part is when Specter learns that he can save his friends. He values his promise to them so much that he is willing to work hard and regain his stats to improve his frost skill and bring his companions back. Specter’s devotion toward’s his vow deserves a read. See for yourself whether his quest is successful or not.
