Part 1: Alluring Plot of Fated to My Enemy
When a book fixes the spotlight on the main character’s inner struggles, it’s automatically assumed that the story will be dragged into a constant session of fake, positive scenarios, and unrealistic self-help advices. All are set down to create a new and acceptable version of the MC for the ending to be satisfying.
Thankfully, Fated to My Enemy novel doesn’t depend on optimism bias to give its character a well-defined transformation. Fated to My Enemy novel is a character-driven story, focusing more on Fated to My Enemy Ryley and Blake’s unhealed traumas, but unlike other pieces I have read, the line between cheerfulness and ominousity are well-balanced, and it’s visible right up from the beginning to end.
Ryley’s struggles, inner battles, and trauma are laid out immediately on Fated to My Enemy Chapter 1. She’s a lone she-wolf who’s been a victim of a vicious attack years ago. That cost her to lose her whole family, the pack she once called home and be alone with her child. Part of what happened could be blamed for her blindness, and stupidity. The man whom she wholly loved turned out to be an ally of the group that destroyed their pack. Disturbed and heartbroken she was, she blames herself for failing to detect that.
Seventeen years later, Ryle’s pretty much scarred and wounded by what happened. She now lives comfortably in a human city, pretending to be one, and working as a financial analyst. Her son has grown up, too. His name’s Channing, and he’s a carbon copy of his bastard of a father. Ryley’s life is flourishing, to say the least. She experiences nightmares and flashbacks from time to time but nothing goes beyond that.
Everything is at its finest point. Until, Issac, her boss at the accounting firm where she worked (and also a notable side character in Fated to My Enemy novel, appointed her to work on a case that falls under her expertise. Ryley wouldn’t have been repulsed by the idea if the client who wished to hire her is a human.
But it is not. She’s set to work on Orion pack, a prominent and affluent pack of werewolves that has been around for a hundred years. Orion pack, especially its alpha, is known for the incomparable power they’ve shown over the years they reigned as the biggest pack. If she’s to be designated in a pack that can shove a country to its knees, how long is it going to take before they unearthed her true identity? Two seconds? A minute?
Ryley’s not up to risk everything she works for. But looking at Channing, his chance to know where they come from and mingle with their real kind widened up her perspective a bit. She didn’t wish to deprive him the world where he truly belongs, and so, she consented, and off they went.
There, she mets Alpha Blake, a single father, and the most insufferable man she ever encountered. The dynamics of their relationship didn’t develop early as they first entered the phase of being enemies. Their forced proximity eventually melted their defenses, and romantic feelings outweighs the hate they have for each other.
While that seems a good turning point for Ryley’s life, prolonged mysteries and old faces from the past begins to re-surface, forcing Ryley to deal with the tragedy and trauma she badly wishes to detached herself from. That, and the responsibilities of being Alpha Blake’s second-chance mate coerced her to choose between only two options: either leave for eternally or stay and fight for what’s generally right.

In Fated to My Enemy Chapter 1, Ryley is experiencing another nightmare. Her mind transports her back to the time she’s running away from a mysterious assailant. Channing, her son, wakes her up, and realizes it’s all a dream and that happened seventeen years ago. Ryley shrugs off the uneasy feeling, and gets up for work.
Chapter 6
In Fated to My Enemy Chapter 6, Ryley storms into Alpha Blake’s office after he made a comment that leaves Ryley, fuming and deeply affronted. They talked, and Ryley clarifies she doesn’t work for him. She’s a lone wolf who doesn’t need an alpha to control her. He has no right to be demeaning, and impudent. Their relationship is purely business. It should remain as that.
Chapter 13
In Fated to My Enemy Chapter 13, Alpha Blake is sitting quietly in his office when his son, Aspen, strolls in and lets him know that he’s found the woman he wants to be with. Alpha Blake is excited to hear it, but the smile on his face immediately faded when Aspen reveals the name of the woman. It’s Ryley, and his mind can’t take the idea of Aspen, drooling over Ryley. Alpha Blake then storms out to check on Ryley, and asks updates about the investigation. But in reality, he’s there to see her, and to know if she’s doing well.
Chapter 20
In Fated to My Enemy Chapter 20, Alpha Blake and Ryley are set to go out of the pack to take care of something, leaving both of their kids behind, and taking the weekend together.
