Summary
In the nineteen years that I had lived, I had never seen a victim of witchcraft myself, I had only heard horrifying storied but I never thought I would love to experience one myself. I was standing with m back pressed on the wall as I watched my friend get engulfed by flames. I didn’t understand it, and I was too stunned to scream or react. She was lying on the bed, but the bed wasn’t on fire and yet she was. I knew no one would believe me if I told them this but this was the most horrifying thing I had ever seen.
I started screaming as the flame died down and what was once my friend turned into a pile of ashes shaped like her body. I called for the doctor but it was as if I was suddenly alone in the pack clinic because no one came to my rescue. Suddenly, the ashes hardened and formed what looked like a shell. I stared at the sight before me in confusion and curiosity, the shell started cracking and out of that shell first came fingers, and then Lana's entire body emerged from the ashes that had turned into a hard shell and I screamed once more.
This time I could hear footsteps running toward Lana's room and as soon as the doctor walked into the room, Lana opened her eyes and took what seemed to be her first breath ever.
