Summary
“I don’t need your help!” I sneered at him.
I wasn’t even sure why he wanted to help me. I could only believe he wanted information from me, and I had heard of the ways he got information from people. It was not in a good way.
“Who says I am still offering?” he asked me with a cruel smile on his lips.
I glanced at him, seeing the way his yellow eyes almost got a darker color. I didn’t like it. It felt like something was going to happen soon. Something bad.
“Why don’t you just leave me alone?!” I yelled at him. “I am worth nothing to you!”
“I don’t believe that,” he said and pushed off the rock, walking over to me again.
He placed his hands on the tree trunk and then put pressure on it again. I screamed so loudly a few birds left the trees.
“Stop!” I screamed, the pain too much.
“What was that?” he asked and took the pressure off a little. “You’re going to tell me everything you know about you and your little human gang?”
“F*ck you!” I shouted, tears running from my eyes.
He shook his head, as if he was disappointed in me, and then put pressure on the tree again. I screamed and screamed, but this only proved to me, the rumors about him were true. He was cruel. Even crueler than his older brother.
“Stop! Please, God!” I yelled.
“There is no god here."
Ladon, the young dragon prince, is haunted by memories of the past. It has left him feeling hollow and unable to connect with the people around him. He still helps his brother taking care of the kingdom, and ends up coming into close contact with a leader of a human group, who seeks to take down the dragons. Ladon thinks he has the upper hand, but the meeting only leaves him scarred.
Rivanna has since she was a young child lived for the cause of taking down the dragons and free the humans. They serve the late king James, Laelia's deceased brother, and believes the humans will be much better off without the dragons, but her first meeting with Ladon, ends up leaving a mark on both of them. Soon, they meet again, and their paths ends up tangled together, but can she let go of her own believes in order to let her heart rule? Is there a future for her and the dragon prince?
