Summary
There is nothing in the world worse than being a half breed. Marcy learned that at a young age. She was constantly bullied growing up and learned quickly how to hide in the shadows. Being a half breed meant being the scum of the earth. There were no benefits, no perks, and no acceptance. Because of this, there were very few half breeds in existence. The ones who did exist hid it well, while the ones who were known didn't survive. Marcy was an exception. One that many hated. Her parents were both purebreds of their species. And because of their status, no one dared to insult or bully Marcy in front of them. They knew all too well what would become if them if they had. Still, that didn't stop people from attacking her when her parents weren't looking. It was common to see a mixed species relationship, but what was not common was procreating with another species. Many couples didn't last as they tended to settle down with their mates or partners when they found them. That wasn't the case for Marcy. And now she had to live with the torture of being a half breed. All Marcy ever wanted to do was get as far away from the city as she possibly could, and when she graduated, that was exactly what she planned on doing.
