Summary
“What did you do?!” I yelled as I walked closer, hoping to take them from him, before he did more damage.
He threw them away, before I could reach the papers, and then grabbed my shoulders.
“I love you,” he said.
“It isn’t enough,” I whispered.
My heart was beating like crazy. His words were bringing it to life again, and it almost wanted to jump out of my chest, so it could be with him. Even if my mind didn’t agree, my heart was his. There was no doubt.
“It is! It is enough because you love me too.”
“I …”
“I know you do,” he said.
I pressed my eyes together, trying my hardest not to cry, and when I opened them again, he didn’t hesitate, as he kissed me hard. I couldn’t stop the tears as he kissed me. It was too good. It was like coming home. Like this was exactly where I should be.
“You can’t,” I said and turned my head, but he didn’t listen.
He pushed me down on the couch, and then removed his jacket before getting on top of me. He kissed me again, and I responded. I couldn’t help myself. I really f*cking couldn’t. My body was heating up, readying itself, because even my body knew who it belonged to, and for a moment I didn’t want to fight it. I just wanted to listen.
Megan left feeling betrayed by Nathan's first intention with their marriage. She feared he in the end was just playing her, but she had no idea he gave up everything for her. She goes to live with her sister, who convinces her a divorce is the way, so she can finally be free. Megan agrees, and not only because she knows she has to move on, but because she has finally realized, it is time she makes a life for herself.
Nathan wants Megan back. He gave up everything he had fought for, just to get her back, and after three months he has finally found her again. Sadly, Megan is still in doubt, despite Nathan wanting to give her anything she wants. Megan has changed. She speaks about finding herself, and she can't do that whilst being married to him. So, Nathan strikes a deal with her. One month she will come and live with him again. He will win over her trust and show her, that even married to him, she can figure out who she is.
Will it be enough? Can Megan figure out her own ways without letting her feelings for Nathan get in the way? Can Nathan show Megan he doesn’t want to trap her in the marriage like her parents did, but simply just want her? Can the two of them once again learn to be the happy couple they once were?
