He was practically drooling, and I found it funny, but then again, it had been a long time since we were affected by the bond like this.
“You mean when it wasn’t required someone complimented me?” she asked.
I nodded.
“I mean a serious and real compliment.”
“I can’t remember,” she told me.
“That long?”
She nodded and looked a bit embarrassed, and I moved closer to her, seeing a small smile spread on her lips.
“You look incredible,” I told her.
The energy between us changed, as we stood so close to each other. You could just feel how electrifying it was, and I saw her eyes swift to my lips for a short moment, but then quickly looked me in the eyes again, before looking away. I bet she had been taught not to look too much or stare into her mate’s eyes like she could actually match his energy.
“Thank you,” she whispered. “You look very good too.”
“I appreciate it,” I told her and then turned and pulled her with me.
“So, where are we going?” she asked.
“That is a surprise.”
I pulled her over to where my bike was parked, and she looked shocked, as I handed her a helmet.
“A motorcycle?” she asked.
I nodded.
“My daughter isn’t the only one who can drive one,” I said.
Lauren smiled excitedly before she took the helmet, and I put one on too. I got on the bike and then helped her, and she quickly put her arms around me, like it was the easiest thing to do. She didn’t even seem to hesitate, and it made my heart beat faster. We quickly drove out of there and into the city, where I parked in front of a bar. We got off the bike and took off our helmets, and I just let Lauren take in the place.
“A bar?” she asked and smiled at me.
I nodded.
“I thought you might prefer some greasy food, beers, and a game of pool, but if I was wrong—”
“I already told you, you weren’t. This is perfect!” she said excitedly.
To hear a luna call this perfect, was quite surprising to me, even though I was the one who had suggested this. I didn’t remember Victoria being much into these things, but Lauren was just different in so many ways. I thought I had her figured out, but I was completely wrong.
“Shall we?”
