The yelling of the crowd could be heard weakly through my headphones. The screen in front of me displayed the enemy team as the absolute winners before changing to the scoreboard. I looked down at my left hand, stretching my fingers to make sure they were still working properly.
That scene of me losing the tournament haunts me until today. Not only because I felt like I had the victory, but also because what caused the loss seems to be present in every competitive game.
I don't know what it is, but there is a delay between the movements of the characters I play and my own. This has made me play roles that are completely new for me.
After trying everything that is in my hands, I am starting to believe that I am not good enough to play professionally anymore. Fortunately, I have my teammates support, who will give me a last chance to prove that I have the required skills to win a national tournament.
Will I find out if the cause of our losses was something out of my hands? Or will I turn out to be the failure everyone expects me to be?
