Part 1: The Marvelous Story Written By HC Dolores: The Alpha King’s Human Mate

One of the things that caught my attention when getting my hands on The Alpha King’s Human Mate By HC Dolores is the fact that it hooked me up right from the beginning. Without prolonged unnecessary introduction, we get the inside scoop on Clark’s life and feelings.

Here is a briefing of the beautiful novel.

Being the sole human in a pack full of werewolves can’t be easy, even though your father is the Alpha. Although her dad and siblings love her, Clark feels like an outcast and she wishes to go away to college in the human world.

Her mere presence in the pack reminds everyone that her dad once cheated on his Luna with a human and ended up with a daughter on his footsteps. This is why most teenagers bully her.

Clark secretly applies to colleges far away from the pack, hoping to start a new life far away from werewolves. Things change drastically though when a letter from the Alpha King himself demands that all Alpha offsprings attend a gathering as diplomats, seeing that there was a war between Crescent Moon Pack and Pacific Rock Pack.

Because she was human, Clark never had to attend such meetings, but for the first time she was forced to do so. Everyone suspected that, apart from being a diplomatic gathering, the King Alpha’s heir was also looking for his mate.

All young girls wanted to be the lucky ones mated to the future Alpha King, but not Clark. She is told that there are few chances for her to be Griffin’s mate, yet she had fear in her heart.

Accompanied by her siblings, Sebastian and Lily, Clark attends dinner with the Alpha King before the actual diplomatic meeting. For everyone, the King was the embodiment of power and righteousness, but during dinner he wasn’t anything like that.

After a couple of drinks, all he could do was mock every guest at his table, especially Clark for being human and the product of a one-night-stand between her human mother and werewolf father.

The next day, during the official gathering, the Alpha King laid some ground rules for Alpha Liam and Alpha Abel whose packs were at war and demanded them to return to peace. Just as he spoke his mind, the handsomest man casually walks in, stopping mid-track after laying his eyes on Clark.

Calling her his mate, the boy rushed to her side and embraced her while deeply inhaling her scent. Enraged, the Alpha King demanded his son to kill the pathetic, weak, unworthy human or else he would take it upon himself to do it.

Hearing his father’s threat, Griffin stiffened. Beside him, Clark looked in the eyes of her mate, waiting for her death. But Griffin didn’t think twice before beheading his father in front of all guests.

Witnessing such cruel event, Clark loses consciousness and wakes up later in an unfamiliar room, with Griffin by her side. He keeps caressing her hair, assuring the girl that no one will ever hurt her.

Still incredulous and still frightened, Clark tries to trick the new Alpha King to reject her, but the boy sees right through her and call her his little fox, for being so sneaky.

As Griffin doesn’t seem to be willing to let go of their mate bond, the girl chooses to escape. With the help of Alessia, she flees and goes to her mother to hide. She tries to live in the human world for a couple of months, yet her mind kept wandering to her mate.

One evening, while being at the cinema with Aiden, her long-time friend, Clark is sure someone is watching her. She can tell it’s Griffin, as she can sense his presence.

He takes the girl pack to his pack and punishes her. Although Clark expected the worst, she actually enjoyed his little torment. It’s more like a hot game between the two of them, with Griffin being the master and Clark his personal slave.

The girl agrees to give the man an opportunity and soon she finds herself deeply in love with him. Will the werewolf world accept a human Queen? Is Clark ready to take on such duty?

Part 3: Werewolf Fantasy Book Review: The Alpha King’s Human Mate

When it comes to The Alpha King’s Human Mate Clark and Griffin’s story, things are pretty much clear for me. It’s one of those books I would read again and still enjoy every chapter.

There is no storyline dragging, no unnecessary cliffhangers, no useless characters to fill the chapters. From the beginning until the end the story flows naturally, keeping you invested in the novel.

Apart from the main plot, which revolves around Clark’s hesitation to be with a werewolf mate, there are also other twists which I found interesting and alluring.

First off, it actually made me curious to learn the reason why would a loving mate such as Clark’s father cheat on his fated Luna with a human no less. The actual confrontation between Clark’s parents takes place further into the novel and it’s quite interesting.

Another thing I followed with interest is Alpha Liam’s story. He is this ruthless leader, set on gaining territory, while having a radical set of rules, which, of course, involved the degradation of human mates.

This is why he literally hated Clark and wanted her and her mate dead. Liam believed himself to be a proper fit to take the King’s place. Apart from his disgust towards weak humans, his idea of a proper werewolf family was also misogynistic.

Liam used women for pleasure purpose only, treating them as maids and sexual objects. They cooked, cleaned and fulfilled his sexual desires. What’s interesting is that he managed to gather an entire radical group around him, who shared his opinions and goals.

With a great deal of twists and turns, as well as heated scenes between Clark and Griffin, The Alpha King’s Human Mate is one book you should add to your reading list.
