One of the things I found interesting about The Alpha King Is My Second Chance Mate by Gaydar is the fact that the heroes are unlike any other characters I met in other similar werewolf novels. Especially the female lead character.
Quinn
Without a hint of doubt, Quinn is a born Luna and a kickass heroine. Nothing can break her whatsoever. She is stoic, not afraid to confront her Alpha and scold him for being disloyal.
Quinn even has the guts to mock Jeo and tell him that he would regret his decision to reject her and choose Delilah. And she dares to stand beside them as she watches their relationship fade.
Unlike other she-wolves, Quinn is strong and this is also due to her Beta blood. She’s bold and feisty and she speaks her mind, regardless of the consequences. The one time she chose to keep silent was when she hoped Jeo would come back to her after fooling round with Delilah.
As valiant as she seems, she surprised me though when she was reluctant to starting a relationship with the Alpha King, who was as sweet and as tolerant as possible. But, once she committed to giving in to the mate bond, she was all in.
Alpha King Zayd
As a powerful leader, one may believe that alpha Zayd is a womanizer, but the truth is that he is truly devoted to his fated mate. In this case, to Quinn. I enjoyed his stubbornness to make his mate trust him and the mate bond again.
He didn’t hold back, using all his weapons to win Quinn’s heart. He did have a minor setback, as appearances deceived him and he once believed that his girl gave herself to Jeo while being in heat, but he soon came back on the right track and made amends.
Alpha Jeo
If you’re wondering how the ultimate cheater looks like, Jeo is the perfect example. Without a hint of remorse, he enamored his fated mate’s sister, he cheated with her and even organized an entire ceremony to tie himself to Delilah behind his woman’s back.
Even more, he made Quinn remain in the pack as his Beta and humiliated her for Delilah’s benefit. And, to make things perfect, he tried to ruin Quinn’s relationship with her second chance mate.
Of course, he would feel jealous watching the woman he cherished for three years be affectionate with another man, yet his selfishness doesn’t have any justification. He chose to let Quinn go in favor of Delilah, he also knew just how powerful and resourceful she is, so he should have thought twice before doing anything reckless.
The Alpha King Is My Second Chance Mate novel shows exactly how hard it is to repair a broken heart, how difficult it is for someone who’s been deceived to trust someone again. Quinn’s journey is not easy, yet it will take her to happiness in the end.

If you’re wondering just how much I enjoyed The Alpha King Is My Second Chance Mate, I must confess that it did make it on the top list of my favorite werewolf fantasy novels.
The plot is intriguing as well as surprising. I mean, I would have never expected that the person who Jeo chose as his second Luna would be Quinn’s sister, nor would I have ever grasped the idea of Quinn lying about being aware of Jeo and Delilah’s illicit affair.
