Romance Book Review: His Mate or His Girlfriend

His Mate or His Girlfriend tells the story of Rose and her unexpected deep dive into the life of a werewolf. Rose suddenly learns of her origins and her responsibility as the Luna and she yearns to be worthy of the faith that is put in her.

His Mate or His Girlfriend has a simple but amazingly beautiful plot that readers will be drawn to.

Okay, we love a good romance, but some of us want the thrill of a good murderous chase. Or the fear of what might happen to our favorite character who is cornered in the frightful woods. Yes! You guessed right. All of this awesomeness is overwhelming in the pages of this book.

I think some of the greatest parts of this book are where we see the growth of Rose’s character. She emerges as remarkable and stunning as the book progresses. Rubyk12 did something amazing with this book.

Alpha Xavier

He is the Alpha of the Crimson Phoenix pack. Xavier finds out about his mate, Luna, Rose, and he refuses to accept her. He ignores his mate’s pull on Rose and stubbornly clings to his girlfriend.

Part 2: Story of His Mate or His Girlfriend

His Mate or His Girlfriend follows the story of Rose, the half-werewolf Luna of the Crimson Phoenix pack. She finds out about her origins on her birthday and is thrust into a life and a people she had no idea existed.

Rose finds out that she has a responsibility to her pack and she is ready to fulfill them. However, a few factors make it difficult for her to live the way she hopes. Her mate, the Alpha of the pack refuses to acknowledge her and there is a looming threat to her life.

Alpha Xavier pushes his mate away and leaves to study abroad. However, the situation that awaits him when he returns is one he never expected. It fully embodies the saying, ‘do not count your chickens before they hatch.’ In this case, he may have been too quick to dismiss this Luna he’d referred to as a ‘child’.

Then came the attempt to take Rose away from the pack. The perpetrators came unexpectedly and there was a nasty battle that left Aunt Maria fatally wounded. Because of this, Thomas and the then Alpha Edmund decided it would be best to raise Rose far away from the pack.
