Romance Book Review: A Weekend With The Alpha

This story tells us of a young woman who undergoes a series of misfortunes, mostly with love. But, in that particular aspect, there’s also family betrayal.

A weekend with the Alpha poses a dangerous but expected question in the beginning pages; what would you do if put in the same situation? You’re asking me? Well, I’d probably lose my mind in bastard fury, punch a man in the throat and burn his Cadillac. But, let’s not talk about what I would do. We want to see just how our protagonist tackles this whole mess.

The best part of this book is the willingness of our main girl, Zera, to do things her way and without any help. Her strength and independence is the most admirable thing you can read about. A woman who does not take crap from anyone. She still treats people with honesty even after getting screwed over multiple times.

Part 1: Meet The Characters

Zera Adams

She is the middle child of three and finds herself wronged by her boyfriend of three years. Owen suddenly dumped her for her younger sister and in one month they got engaged and are ready to be married.

Zera’s dissatisfaction only multiplies when her mother is nonchalant about her pain and sadness, and her sister decides that Zera should be the maid of honor in order to prove that she isn’t bothered anymore.

Zera, to her credit, holds her emotions in up until the wedding reception where she was finally pushed to her limit of endurance. She tells her truth and walks out on her family.

Drowning her feelings with alcohol, at a bar, Zera meets a tall, handsome stranger who will change her life like she never expects.

Aaron Hart

The very dreamy hunk. He meets Zera at a bar and when she faints, he helps her to his house. Aaron is fascinated by Zera and when she has to stay with him for the weekend, he is glad. Even more so, the tension between them has Aaron ready to do take a cold shower.

Part 2: Story of A Weekend With The Alpha

The story follows Zera Adams who goes through a breakup with her ex who marries her younger sister, and her family who don’t see the problem with that. She is shattered by everything, but suddenly meets a handsome stranger that ignites her fire once more.

They end up spending the weekend together, indulging in each other to their heart’s content. But, this beautiful experience is suddenly turned into something darker when Zera realizes she may have made the same mistake of trusting men too quickly.

Five years later, and with her son, Zion, Zera does her best to navigate through the life of a single mother. Without her family or the father of her son around, Zera copes with her job and motherhood the best she can, thankfully with the aid of her best friend, Diya.

However the winds suddenly turn, and Aaron is back in her life. What will Zera do about this man who has no idea she had his child?

Part 3: Intense Chapters From A Weekend With The Alpha

Chapter One:

In this chapter, we see Zera fighting her emotions as she is faced with betrayal from her unfaithful lover and betrayal from her younger sister. These two people are engaged and to be wed, one month after Zera’s break up with the man.

She is frustrated and ticked off that they were both going behind her back all this time. Zera tries to move past it, but her sister wants her to be the maid of honor, and their mother doesn’t care at all.

Everything comes to a head at the wedding reception when Zera can no longer take the disrespect. Zera speaks her mind and walks out on her awful family (except Lionel).

Chapter Eight:

In this chapter, we can see where the sexual tension finally leads -Aaron’s bed. The man takes the lead after the kiss from Zera sets him off, and the two tumble chaotically between the sheets.

Zera can’t explain this unexpectedly intense urge she feels with Aaron and the two of them advance.

Chapter Thirteen:
Aaron wants Zera to stay longer, and Zera doesn’t see the problem so she’s pleased. However, when she goes to find Aaron on the balcony, she overhears him speaking on the phone in a very passionate manner, about a woman he wanted to be found and how she belonged with him.

Zera knew the way this tale usually went and she is heartbroken that Aaron would do something like that. After Owen, she never thought she’d be able to trust another man again, but then came Aaron, and now, he shattered that trust.

Chapter Fourteen

It is five years later and we see Zera with her son who she loves more than anything. After being scorned by her family and walking out on them at her younger sister’s wedding, Zera receives no help from them. neither does she receive any help from the child’s father whom she never informed about the existence of a child? Yes, it is none other than Aaron.

However, it wasn’t for lack of trying. In this chapter, we see that Zera did call Aaron with the number on his business card. But after hearing the female voice that answered the phone, Zera quickly hangs up and doesn’t bother trying again. She wants to protect her child from any form of drama, pain, or rejection.

A Weekend with the Alpha is an awesome choice for a day with you and the popcorn bowl.
