Mated To The King Of Darkness tells stories about the classic rivalry between werewolves and vampires. Alpha King Gery rules over the Teeland region, and the entire region’s werewolves acknowledge him as the King of all werewolves. In other words, Teeland werewolves should go to Alpha King Gery in the Capital city to discuss important matters about the packs.
Meanwhile, Alpha King Gery’s father found George, Zezi’s husband, when he was a rogue. George’s “closeness” to Gery automatically raises his position in the pack as the Beta. His relationship with Zezi before the story of Mated To The King Of Darkness novel starts also results him in courting the Zeta she-wolf. Together, they have a daughter, whom they named Mira.

She is also a kind-hearted and protective parent to Mira, her daughter with George. It doesn’t matter if the werewolves couldn’t fight vampires, because Mira’s safety comes first for Zezi.
George and Gery
Beta George and Alpha King Gery of the Teeland region are supposed to be best friends. After all, Gery’s father found George when he was a rogue. However, that is not the case in Mated To The King Of Darkness novel, since both parties often drive each other nuts.
George is Zezi’s husband, and it also makes him one of Mira’s legal parents. Zezi chooses to marry him with her consciousness regardless of her mating fate with the Vampire King. He eventually has to undergo the dungeon punishment from his Alpha because of his disobedience, before he is released and can reunite with Zezi.
Part 3: Some Analysis Of Mated To The King Of Darkness Novel
I see many mind-blowing points from the stories of Mated To The King Of Darkness. The werewolf and vampire rivalries might be a classical theme. Yet, Mated To The King Of Darkness brings the rivalry’s uniqueness to a different level by emphasizing the vampires’ powers.
The undefeatable and “empty-soul” sides of the vampire forces in Mated To The King Of Darkness also enrich the novel’s stories, in ways that readers don’t only focus their attention on the werewolves. While Beta George, Alpha King Gery, and Zezi, the Zeta she-wolf female MC’s appearances dominate the first half of the novel, we shouldn’t forget the vampires’ existences.
To me, the Vampire King’s presence in Mated To The King Of Darkness doesn’t only emphasize the “King Of Darkness” part in the novel’s title. Instead, the Vampire King is not Zezi’s second-chance mate. Remember, Zezi loves George, and the same goes for her Beta partner. She doesn’t choose to be with her so-called fate.
Zezi’s independence and bravery, which she consistently shows in the entire stories of Mated To The King Of Darkness, don’t only stay as her strongest assets. It also proves her status as the Zeta in her pack. Anyway, Zeta status itself is a rare thing to discuss in werewolf novels, but that doesn’t mean Zeta wolves don’t exist. Like Zezi, the resistance to mainstream and traditional things is the key to understanding the Zeta wolves’ nature.
Zezi’s Zeta position in the pack also opens my mind to learning more about werewolf’s hierarchies. My speculation about this part of Mated To The King Of Darkness novel is that Zezi either used to be an Alpha or was born from one or more Alpha parents before she went rogue and the Alpha King found her.
