Lucian of Lucian’s Regret refers to this novel’s male MC. He is Alpha Lucian Grey, who is supposed to be Aurora’s mate.
Aurora lives a painful life under the reigns of her ruthless Alpha dad, who prefers her little sister. Alpha Lucian is no different from Aurora’s father, either.
Now that pretending to be wolfless only opens Aurora up for more abuses, will Aurora continue to put up with it?

Part 1: The Wonderful Storyline Of Lucian’s Regret
At first, the storylines of Lucian’s Regret seem typical for a werewolf romance novel. We know about Aurora’s past before we “meet” Lucian for the first time. Aurora’s extremely unhappy living with her abusive dad also becomes one of the themes in Lucian’s Regret.
Aurora seems wolfless and weak; all characters will chime to agree with this statement. She is also unwilling to have anything to do with other packs. After all, Aurora’s father never considers her role. Aurora’s father prefers Suzie, her younger sister, who also looks down on her.
Aurora’s miserable life in Lucian’s Regret novel doesn’t stop there, as Zander, her brother and her only supporter in the family system, has more priorities in her father’s eyes than her. Even worse, her father forces her to marry Alpha Lucian Grey, a man she barely knows about.
Such miserable life scenes make Aurora pretend to be wolfless. On the other hand, Alpha Lucian shares the hatred of weakling Lunas, just like any other Alpha male werewolf. All Lucian knows about Aurora is just she’s a wolfless, spoiled, loud, and a non-grown-up she-wolf.
Such thoughts lead Lucian to think of a dozen ways to get over his marriage with Aurora. Aurora’s fake wolfless condition leads her to only be Lucian’s wife in the name. Lucian regularly tortures Aurora, denies her say in their relationship, and does other horrible things to her.
Still, how far will the “Lucian’s Regret” go when Lucian discovers Aurora’s Alpha gene?
Part 2: Hot And Memorable Chapters From Lucian’s Regret Novel
Chapter 1: My Life, My Past
Lucian’s Regret Chapter 1 is mainly about Aurora’s past before she meets Alpha Lucian Grey, her mate. Aurora’s biological mother, her only loving figure in her life, has died long before the story begins. As a result, Aurora suffers under the tyranny of her abusive father with his second wife and her little sister.
Neither of these so-called family figures has paid attention to Aurora since she was a child. Her father neglected her to the point he pins all the blame on Aurora and locks Aurora inside her room whenever she expresses disobedience. Even Zander, Aurora’s much nicer older brother, doesn’t dare to oppose her father.
Chapter 2: Unwanted Bride
I think of Chapter 2 of Lucian’s Regret novel as one of the highlight chapters, for in this chapter, we start to see Lucian, the male MC of this wonderfully-written novel. Lucian resents his mom for arranging a marriage with Aurora and Suzie, the two weakling she-wolves whom he deems as boisterous, “too loud”, spoiled, rude, and many other horrible names.
Not only does Lucian express his disgust to both girls. He also resents his Gamma and other underlings for teasing him about the marriage. I spot many curse words in this chapter of Lucian’s Regret, which signify Lucian’s annoyed feelings. I bet he would be even more annoyed when Aurora is present in front of him!
Chapter 4: Not My Mate
Here’s to another memorable chapter of Lucian’s Regret novel! With its “Not My Mate” title and the opening that describes the stories based on Lucian’s POV, this chapter “helps” Lucian speak up about his feelings about his forced marriage with Aurora. He thinks Aurora is wolfless and not worthy of him. Yet, his mother keeps forcing him to obey.
At the same time, Aurora’s good looks save her from Lucian’s further negligence. If there were things in Aurora that makes Lucian attracted, that would be her looks. More chapters will prove Lucian’s Regret is real. Just wait for Aurora’s ending of her pretend-to-be-wolfless state!
Part 3: Some Analysis And Impressions Of Lucian’s Regret
Lucian’s Regret is an unpredictable novel for me, which is fantastic. It doesn’t only offer POVs from both MCs nor does this novel tell stories about Aurora being the “damsel-in-distress” character.
I usually admire the female MCs’ tenacity in facing terrible difficulties in their lives. While I also love the same feistiness in Aurora (that I notice her unrivaled wordplay abilities—I wish I could possess that ability!), I admire Lucian’s sound and intimidating characteristics in this novel as well.
No author other than TracyLian, the author of Lucian’s Regret, pictures the male MCs’ characteristics as vividly as Lucian’s. I love how the author describes Lucian’s trains of thought, and how he observes his environments and shares these observations (and his struggles) with his peers.
The storyline movements in Lucian’s Regret novel are also impressive. This novel’s stories move deliberately so that readers can take time to understand the struggles each MC experiences. Lucian’s Regret novel doesn’t involve that much of power show-offs. Instead, this novel gradually builds the tension through the family-related things from each MC’s POV.
Other werewolf romance novels might only focus on the two MCs. However, Lucian’s Regret brings us closer to both sides’ parents and peers. That way, the environments as the story’s elements have more vivid descriptions than in your typical werewolf romance novels.
If anybody asked me about the novel, where we could read the first parts of the story, I would answer with Chapter 2. I chose that answer because Chapter 1 is the context of Aurora’s past. On the other hand, Chapter 2 is where we understand who Lucian is and why he would regret his decisions.
Part 4: More Reasons To Love Reading Lucian’s Regret On The Dreame Platform
Lucian’s Regret is a novel where the storylines don’t only focus on the two MCs, but also on developing the supporting characters’ personalities. Even though Aurora’s abusive families (except the disturbing Suzie, of course) “tame” their influences in some later chapters of the novel, we can get more glimpses of Aurora’s family dynamics.
On the other hand, Lucian’s family members are supportive. Lucian’s mother’s disappointed expression is one of the most understandable in any novel and real-world setting. She is the epitome of a mother who wants the best for her son instead of being overprotective and restrictive of him.
Such different family settings make the relationships between Lucian and Aurora almost impossible to last forever. Growing up in such a loving family condition makes Lucian oblivious to Aurora’s “fairy-tale” stories about an abusive father.
Still, Lucian’s Regret inspires you to be patient with people like Aurora in your lives. When you become patient with the “Auroras” in your lives, you will see their self-confidence shine even brighter than the average people. That’s my “why” to recommend this Dreame novel to all of you.
Another reason to recommend reading Lucian’s Regret novel is that this novel has many useful lessons you can use in your life. For instance, this novel can help you notice logical fallacies in other’s thoughts, so you don’t end up making messes in your decisions. As for the reference, look at Lucian’s reasonings of “It’s her dad!” when people confront him with stories about Aurora’s abusive dad: His real reason for neglecting Aurora is that Aurora seems wolfless and weak to him.
