Part 1: The Main Story Of The Song In The Alpha’s Heart Novel

The main story of The Song In The Alpha’s Heart focuses on at least eight different werewolf clans: Blackfire, Stonemaker, Mountainmover, Shadowtail, Frost, Northmountains, Heartsong, and the Moon Mountain clan.

Damien, the male MC, is the Moon Mountain clan’s future Alpha. He is also the current Alpha’s oldest son. As such, Damien has learned the challenging lesson of “responsibility” from his early years. Damien also grows to be a mature and powerful Alpha werewolf, who brings pride to his family.

One day, Damien discovered a heavily injured female werewolf while he was on a hunting journey with Alpha Andrew, his father. The two male werewolves start speculating about this mysterious she-wolf’s origin. So, in The Song In The Alpha’s Heart novel, Damien and Andrew start memorizing every possible clan’s name in their area.

Damien is shocked when he finds out the tan-skinned she-wolf is Alora Northmountains, the daughter of Alister Northmountain, the ferocious werewolf who rejects his Goddess-given mate for Bettina Frost, his fiery red-haired mate. As we read more chapters of The Song In The Alpha’s Heart novel, we will realize Alora is the scapegoat to Sarah, who is Alister and Bettina’s other daughter.

Alora and Sarah’s parents treat Alora this way out of their jealousy. These parental figures know Alora inherits the First Alpha blood and has the potential of having an inner Lycan instead of a mere werewolf. That’s why Alora’s parents take pleasure in torturing and threatening Alora. She knows her family has regarded her as a dangerous specimen, yet, she can’t do anything to convince them otherwise.

Alora’s suffering in The Song In The Alpha’s Heart novel doesn’t stop there, as her mate cheats with Sarah on Alora’s 18th birthday. Fortunately, Alora still has the Moon Mountain clan as the clan she can regard as her second family.

Soon, Alora begins to befriend Damien and Darien, the two stunning-looking male werewolves in the Moon Mountain clan. One of them mutters the word “mate” to Alora, which is the word Alora has waited for, for so long.

Who is that werewolf guy? What about the other guys in the Moon Mountain clan? How will Sarah and Alora’s “former family” make further appearances in The Song In The Alpha’s Heart?

Part 2: The Characters Of The Song In The Alpha’s Heart Novel

Alora Northmountain

Alora Northmountain of The Song In The Alpha’s Heart remains the scapegoat in her family. Alora may be the biological daughter of Alister Northmountain, one of the most powerful male werewolves. However, Alora also possesses fantastic level of supernatural power despite her tiny figure. So, it makes her parents and Sarah, her sister, jealous and feel the need to torture her.

On the other hand, The Song In The Alpha’s Heart also shows the Goddess still favors Alora. It doesn’t matter if the Northmountain and the Heartsong (Alora’s mother’s original clan) clans rejected her. At least, she can regard the Moon Mountain clan as her second home. It also becomes a place for her to find her mate.

Damien and Darien Moonstar

Damien and Darien Moonstar of The Song In The Alpha’s Heart are the two gorgeous-looking sons of Alpha Andrew Fire Moonstar, the current Alpha of the Moon Mountain clan. Damien, the oldest son, found the heavily injured Alora in the forest while he was in the middle of his hunting training with his father.

Since then, Damien has been the person bringing Alora to the Moon Star Mansion, the Moon Mountain clan’s base camp. Later, Alora also knows more about Darien, Damien’s livelier sibling. However, Darien’s liveliness doesn’t mean he doesn’t carry any complicated secrets. After all, as Alpha’s son, Darien also carries Alpha’s blood within him.

Part 3: Some Analysis Of The Song In The Alpha’s Heart Novel

The Song In The Alpha’s Heart is an alternative version of Werewolf’s Heartsong. The author, DizzyIzzyN, refers to The Song In The Alpha’s Heart as the remastered version. That’s why you will see the same scapegoat (yet, secretly powerful) she-wolf, Alora Northmountain, in this novel.

Alora’s powerful descendant remains the same in The Song In The Alpha’s Heart. Her tan-skinned physique is not only attractive, but it also gives the readers an impression of Alora’s uniqueness compared to other characters, including Sarah, Alora’s bully sister. However, The Song In The Alpha’s Heart puts more emphasis on the Alpha characters.

Damien and Darien aren’t the only male characters to inherit the Alpha blood from their fathers. The First Alpha, Alpha Brodie Heartsong, also becomes the crucial character in understanding each character’s backstories. More precisely, the First Alpha becomes the reason why Alora is far more powerful and confident than how she appears in front of her family.

Based on my observations, The Song In The Alpha’s Heart also emphasizes the importance of a clan. Even though this novel is different in how it doesn’t describe Alora’s malicious family members’ attempts to make Alora clan-less, we can see many elements with werewolf clans as the novel’s central parts.

The Moon Mountain clan’s rescue plays a part in redefining the clan’s definition in Alora’s head. After all, I see Alora of The Song In The Alpha’s Heart as a girl who needs reassurance that nice and welcoming family members like the Moon Mountain clan exist.

Therefore, Alora’s ways of showing her true face and power to the world rely on how nicely Damien and Darien treat her in the future.

Part 4: Read A Similar Novel To The Song In The Alpha’s Heart

I can imagine the shock and worthlessness Alora feels when she encounters Alpha Damien for the first time. She thought Damien would be as abusive and fake as her parents and other family members. Additionally, I also felt Alora’s self-condescending feelings about herself when I read this chapter of The Song In The Alpha’s Heart.

In other words, Alora might feel she is too ugly for a noble-looking Alpha like Alpha Damien. Such a thing doesn’t only show in Alora’s scared facial expression and voice tone upon their first encounter. It is also a usual reaction; we can see it in other similar novels.

The Song For Alpha Dark Knight is one of the novels with similar storylines to The Song In The Alpha’s Heart that I would love to recommend. This novel doesn’t only have a similar “the song” phrase. Instead, it also tells stories about Aiden, the Alpha Dark Night, whom I think of as the gender-bend version of Alora Northmountain in The Song In The Alpha’s Heart.

Aiden doesn’t only possess ugly looks. He also enjoys being such a dark individual, until he hears his mate mention to him her scared feelings. Aiden’s heartache eventually leads to his fears of losing his mate, as he says, “I’m afraid you don’t love me the way I love you,”
