The roles Spare, the female MC of Fates Hands by Lori Ameling, plays in her pack, are as far as her first name. Her family never allows her to interact with them.

Part 1: The Unforgettable Chapters Of Fates Hands By Lori Ameling Novel

Chapter 1

Lori Ameling, the author of Fates Hands novel, wants to emphasize how Spare Williams, the female MC of her book, is different from Lily Williams, her malicious twin sister. Spare’s parents hated her for her strikingly different physiques since she was a child.

It leads them and Spare’s sister to never allow Spare to use the front door and communicate with them unless they want to teach Spare some “lessons” and Lily wants to brag to her brassy friends. However, Spare’s life changes when she finds an exceptionally tall guy who lies naked on the cleaning floor. Later, we know the man is a werewolf, and his name is Duncan.

Chapter 4

Marnie’s presence as Duncan’s cheerful sibling doesn’t only add to the highlighting moments in Chapter 4 of Fates Hands novel. Instead, here’s where Lori Ameling wants to show the readers that a male MC’s life in any romance novel doesn’t only revolve around his mate. Highlighting Duncan’s relationship with his little sister also means Lori’s intention to highlight the werewolf’s loyalty to his family (or “pack”, in many werewolf-themed novels).

Marnie might be an energetic and youthful little sister. However, it doesn’t mean her world only revolves around her older brother. She quickly accustoms herself to Spare, Duncan’s mate, a few seconds after their introduction. Furthermore, Marnie helps Spare change her unworthy name to Adira Marie MacPatton. That way, Spare can ignore Lily and her parents.

Chapter 5

A tracker is a device Lori Ameling wants to highlight when she writes Chapter 5 of Fates Hands novel. It is a useful device that any werewolves can use to track their former pack members, even though they have changed their identities. In this chapter, Spare has changed her identity to Adira, and she is in a pack’s hospital.

Duncan is the first werewolf to notice the doctors’ odd statements and the tracking device around the hospital. So, he mind-links Marco to think of what they would do when they approach the were-bear friend, a tracking expert. Marco’s acts in taking the tracker away and running away from the hospital are the cliffhanger endings of Chapter 5 that Lori Ameling writes to encourage readers to read more portions of this novel’s chapter.

Part 2: The Author And The Main Storylines Of Fates Hands By Lori Ameling

Fates Hands tells stories about a wicked mother married to an equally wicked father. All narcissistic parents have at least one golden child and one another kid as their scapegoat, and such a thing also applies to the Williams of the Rising Moon pack.

To make matters worse, these two nasty parents agree to name their second child “Spare Williams”. “Spare” refers to a tire’s spare part, which refers to how Spare’s parents treat her differently than they treat Lily Williams, their spoiled princess. Spare’s dark brown hair and eyes are her parents’ favorite excuses to treat her horribly.

In Fates Hands novel, Spare’s parents and Lily never allow Spare to communicate with them. Not stopping there, Spare’s parents never fed her properly, called her several nasty names, and allowed her to undergo a training session. Those things are Spare’s parents’ ways of ensuring Spare’s invisibility except when they need to unleash their rage on her.

Duncan’s appearance amid Spare’s innermost desire to escape her parents highlights Lori Ameling’s desire to write about hopeful male characters to convince the readers, that such powerful yet protective and kind-hearted characters exist. Even though Duncan is cold to Spare at first, it is because he feels annoyed Spare’s mother names her that way.

The Williams are not only famous in their pack. In Fates Hands by Lori Ameling, Duncan, Marco, and his friends and family members, are outsiders. However, they also demonstrate the knowledge about Spare’s parents. Later, they help Spare dress up and change her full name.

I see such actions as Lori’s attempt to protect Spare from her malicious parents and sister. However, it doesn’t mean the story will always have that sort of cliffhanger ending. So, will Spare’s biological parents find the new her? How long will Spare be free from her parents?

Only by reading this one of Lori’s masterpieces can we find the answer!

Part 3: Some Impressions About Fates Hands By Lori Ameling

The first book in the trilogy, Fates Hands by Lori Ameling, introduces how a “Spare”-girl is no longer a “spare-part” type of girl after she meets a caring mate. Talking about caring, I guess this trait is what Lori wants to emphasize in Duncan’s characteristics.

I love how Lori has made Duncan’s caring personality obvious since his debut appearance. Few authors can blend between a male MC’s cold-hearted mask and his essential loving personality. However, Lori manages to do it magnificently. I can see Duncan is not only powerful, but he also treasures the word “mate”.

Duncan’s teamwork with Marco and Marnie, his energetic little sister, is another thing I love from Fates Hands by Lori Ameling. Marnie’s cheerfulness and eagerness to accept people in her life have been this novel’s delightful parts since Chapter 4. Meanwhile, Duncan and Marco are inseparable, and they take no sh*ts for their teamwork purposes.

Fates Hands by Lori Ameling isn’t just all about romance and establishing healthy family relationships. It also brings the readers hope in so many ways. One of the main messages I see from reading this novel is to take every moment to liberate ourselves. We will always find kind-hearted people on our journey, that’s why we should never give up on ourselves.

Lori has inspired us by creating Spare Williams a.k.a. Adira Marie MacPatton as the female MC. We can read her in action when we read this novel’s chapters.

Part 4: Read A Similar Novel To Fates Hands By Lori Ameling

Everything revolves around the dream world for an abused and locked daughter like Spare Williams: A mate, going to a college, undergoing an inspiring training session with fellow she-wolves, and others. Indeed, the dream world is always the friendliest base camp when reality feels too harsh to experience.

So, I think about Not-So-Fated Mates when talking about a novel like Fates Hands By Lori Ameling. Layla Stanley of Not-So-Fated Mates experiences the same thing as Spare Williams to Duncan on the former girl’s 18th birthday. Layla has dreamed of a mysterious and gorgeous-looking man as his mate, and she is shocked to find her dream come true in front of her eyes.

Unfortunately, the mysterious and s*xy man rejects her, for he is already mated to another shifter. Seven years later, Layla has become the top warrior, whose sole focus is her training session. Yet, what happens when this smokin’ hot man makes an unexpected return to Layla’s life?
