Any men will freak out when they witness their wives fake their virginity status before their marriage. The happy-go-lucky Julius Keaton in Love The Second Time Around is no exception.
Julius continuously asks Liliana about the guy she met on the wedding night. Even worse, the guy’s identity turns out to be Dominic Hartnell, Galaxy Entertainment’s CEO.
Has Dominic replaced Julius’ image in Liliana’s heart? Who will Liliana end up with?
Part 1: The Interesting Backstory Of Love The Second Time Around
Liliana of Love The Second Time Around novel has been an accomplished freelance comic writer since long ago. One of her editors, Shannon Harper, loves her works so much that the two women’s relationships are closer to a sisterhood than a mere professionality.
Yet, an editor is still a writer’s editor, and ignoring the instructions can make Liliana stripped out of her title. One day, Shannon informs Liliana about one of her most recent works: I Only Want To Be With You. It caught the attention of Galaxy Entertainment’s CEO, and Shannon wanted Liliana to meet him in person.
Liliana is already married to the happy-go-lucky Julius Keaton when Shannon assigns her such a meet-up. Their marriage has no issues apart from Julius’ freaking out about her lies. Liliana had no longer been a virgin since the two weren’t married; yet, she insisted on her virginity until she married Julius.
Liliana and Julius’ marriage in Love The Second Time Around novel has lasted for a few years. Yet, Dominic Hartnell also becomes one of the most pivotal figures in Liliana’s romantic life. He used to date Liliana before she married Julius. In addition, this CEO of Galaxy Entertainment has attended Liliana and Julius’ wedding.
Dominic persistently flirts with Liliana even though Liliana has rejected him many times while playing her marriage card. One of his most effective strategies is to hand Liliana a video footage that shows Julius’ infidelity.
As Liliana has witnessed her newlywed husband, Julius, sharing a bed with his mistress, will Dominic be a decent man for her?
Part 2: The Characters Of Love The Second Time Around
Liliana
“Successful” and “ambitious” are two words to describe Liliana of Love The Second Time Around novel. She doesn’t only consistently deliver decent work qualities as a freelance comic writer. Instead, Liliana is also a writer who respects her works. She doesn’t lose her dignity even in the face of the CEO of a gargantuan entertainment industry like Galaxy Entertainment.
Liliana’s acute abilities to spot lies and logical fallacies don’t only come in line with her job. Instead, these abilities also become parts of her personality. Liliana’s reactions to people around her erupt when she cares about a person. We can see this part in her interactions with Julius in some earlier chapters of Love The Second Time Around.
Dominic Hartnell
Dominic Hartnell of Love The Second Time Around used to date Liliana when she hadn’t married Julius. Liliana breaks up with him because this intimidating man is more than a bully. He is also notorious for being a stalker, not getting used to the word “no”, and thinking he is the “one and only”.
Yet, these whole reputations turn out to be closer to gossipy when we read further chapters of Love The Second Time Around. While it’s true that Dominic stops at nothing until he wins Liliana’s love, he is an honest and dependable man deep down. Dominic only shows his loving side when the time permits and Liliana’s heart is ready to accept him.
Julius Keaton
“Happy-go-lucky” and “playful” are two words Liliana uses to describe Julius, her newlywed husband, in the first chapter of Love The Second Time Around. Liliana was correct because that time, she was unaware of Julius’ red flags, apart from his hesitance to touch her despite their few years of marriage life.
One day, Julius returned home much later than usual, and he also turned off Liliana’s calls. Liliana’s suspicion of her husband becomes a bitter reality when she sees with her eyes the mistress Julius brings to their house. Even worse, this mistress wears her nightgown. Julius’ avoidance of discussing his infidelity eventually leads his relationship with Liliana to plummet.
Part 3: A Review Of Love The Second Time Around Novel
“Making peace with the past” is the theme I see in Love The Second Time Around. Dominic Hartnell was as heartless as he used to be when he still dated Liliana. Liliana’s unresolved issues with him make me think Dominic’s attendance at Liliana and Julius’ wedding is by force instead of an invitation.
Dominic might have looked at the shady background far away from the seemingly happy couple and pondered on his memories with Liliana. That time should be when Dominic considered his perspectives and thoughts. I get the impression Dominic of Love The Second Time Around isn’t only the first character to be aware of Liliana and Julius’ marriage red flags, but, he is also the first character to change his personality.
Yet, like most men, Dominic doesn’t directly and openly admit his self-development progresses. I also see the same thing for Julius, even though Julius is a much more cowardly man than Liliana. Julius might be after something in Liliana and the mistress; that’s why he never seems to build relationships based on love.
Liliana’s rising reputation as a freelance comic writer gives an impression of a wealthy woman. If the mistress was also a wealthy individual, perhaps Julius was a parasite who fed himself from the women he dated. It means Julius might do the same things to other women while putting on his happy-go-lucky façade to lure them.
Either way, Dominic brings more happiness to Liliana, despite their terrible dating pasts. When thinking about the central theme of Love The Second Time Around, I believe giving one more chance to a man like Dominic won’t hurt someone like Liliana. That way, she can be happy with herself and live happily with someone who treasures her.

Dominic eventually succeeds in knocking on Liliana’s closed door of romance through the video footage that shows Liliana’s husband’s infidelity, making her second-guess her husband’s choices.
