Alpha Valen of NightShade Pack and Alpha John of Shadow Pack fought for everyone to see in the opening. Everly watched her mate and father hurt each other; both are stronger and refuse to back down. Before they could kill each other, she stepped in between Ava, and her mother followed suit.
Later in chapter 86 of Alpha’s Regret – My Luna Has a Son, Everly challenges her father in a battle for the position of Shadow Pack’s Alpha, a position meant for Everly by birth but is something Alpha John refused to give her because of her mate.
This was also when Valen learned Alpha John knew he had a child all along. Everly also gave a sermon to the Shadow Pack member watching.
Alpha John seemed hesitant to fight his daughter but saying so would make him look weak. He agreed and told her the next full moon in the council arena would be ok.
